Autograph album. 1882.

Autograph album used to for locks of hair, some woven into circles. Signed on flyleaf: Mrs. Jennie M. Bassett, Mc Henry, Mc Henry Co. Ill. December 14th, 1882. 8 leaves with hair pasted in along with decorations, all labeled with names, cities, and states. The family names are Bassett, Hobart, Earl, Chamberlin, Miner,Wilson, from Illinois, New York, Michigan, and Minnesota. Laid in is a photograph of Aunt Carrie Bell Martin, Mansfield, 82 years old. Laid in also is a lock of gray and brown hair with a decorative card of Mrs. E. A. Light, the cards of Mary Newell and Mrs. J. J. DeMars, card for the SInger Manufacturing Co., Minneapolis with the signature of M. E. Burt, and a lock of 3 day old baby Elsie's hair pinned to a paper. Many pages after had four leaf clovers pasted in, most disintegrated. Quotation at end of the evils of wine.
